The Atlanta Braves have won their fifth straight game, beating the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-2 in an exciting game on Saturday night. The Braves got off to an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning off of a home run by Freddie Freeman. The Pirates would fight back, however, and tie the game in the fourth inning with a two-run single from Starling Marte.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Braves would take the lead again when Ronald Acuna Jr. hit an RBI single to center field. The Pirates threatened in the top of the ninth inning, but Braves closer Mark Melancon managed to get out of the inning unscathed, preserving the win for Atlanta.

The Braves now have a five game winning streak and are 23-17 on the season. They are currently in second place in the NL East, two games behind the New York Mets. The Pirates, meanwhile, are now 16-25 and in fourth place in the NL Central.
